Glassified DC has done our best to roundup a rooftop list worthy of any wait. Now, if you could only find a place to set your drink…

Here’s a look at what WaPo dubs “the best” rooftop bars. In the “Editor’s picks,” El Centro D.F., DC9, and the W Hotel’s P.O.V Roof Terrace and Lounge rank among the top spots to take in a drink with a view. We think P.O.V. also has THE best spot for watching District fireworks.

The WaPo’s Going Out Guide is a much awaited summer staple and offers a larger list of rooftop bars and reviews. Making the cut, a Glassifed DC favorite: the rooftop bar at Whitlow’s on Wilson. But, don’t forget about those long happy hour lines! Especially for the Fourth, we suggest camping out at most of these rooftop locations early.

Back in April, Washingtonian put out “Outdoor Drinking Spots in Washington: Our Favorites,” and it’s still a good guide for D.C.‘s rooftop hot spots. Biergarten Haus on H Street, Donovan House, and Nellie’s on U Street rank high on this comprehensive list of outdoor food and drink summer must do’s.

The W hotel also comes in as the top roof spot in the Washington City Paper’s Best Of Reader’s poll. Local 16 comes in second and is followed by the ever popular Nellie’s Sports Bar.

So now that you have some choices, take it straight to the top for this Fourth of July. Just be sure to give a shout of thanks down to those crews working hard to clean-up the mess!
